CompUSA is a retailer and reseller of personal computers, consumer electronics, technology products and computer services. Starting with one brick-and-mortar store in 1986 under the name Soft Warehouse, by the 1990s CompUSA had grown into a nationwide big box chain. At its peak, it operated at least 229 locations.

A former employee mentioned, "I do not know what to say. CompUSA folded due to bad management, Their idiocy cost thousands their jobs. The world is better without them."

The absolute worst part is the environment, just walk in to any store and talk with more than a few people, everyone hates their job, are looking for something else and management doesn't care. The negative attitude rolls down hill. Corporate treats their employees like slaves, DMs treat their stores the prisons, Managers treat their employees like dogs, etc."

"Too often the tech shop was overwhelmed with customers ready to yell or cry in frustration from their technical issues. Patience, never ending patience with the clients is what I learned. Management sometimes had to step in with unruly people who wanted to cause problems or pick fights. Co-workers came and went as it was retail.
